This Policy describes how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website and online shop. It complements our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions; as regards the processing of personal data, the «Your information and privacy» section of those documents applies.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small files stored on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit a website. They make it possible to remember preferences, keep you signed in, protect forms and — only if you authorise it — measure how the site is used in aggregate form.
This site also uses your browser's local storage to keep one single thing: your decision about measurement cookies. That storage is not an HTTP cookie, but it serves an equivalent preference-keeping function.

TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE

- hwe_at — keeps you signed in. It can only be read by the server and lasts a few minutes; it renews itself while you browse.
- hwe_rt — lets your session be renewed without typing your password again. Server-readable only, up to 30 days. When you sign out it is invalidated on the server, not just in your browser.
- hwe_cart — identifies your cart so that products, quantities and totals are kept from page to page. Server-readable only, up to 7 days.
- hwe_csrf — protects forms and write operations (signing in, buying, changes to your account) against unauthorised requests. It lasts 2 hours.
- hwe-theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Up to 1 year, with no advertising purpose whatsoever.
- cookie-consent — not a cookie but an entry in your browser's local storage: it records whether you accepted or rejected measurement cookies and the reference for that choice, so that you are not asked again. It stays until you delete it.
- hwe_consent — stores the reference for your cookie choice (a random code that does not reveal who you are), so that we can prove what you chose and when, as the law requires. Readable only by the server, up to 400 days; it is renewed every time you choose.
None of them is used to profile you for advertising purposes. If you block these cookies in your browser, you may not be able to use the cart, complete a purchase or access your account.
2. Measurement and advertising cookies (optional)
These are only activated if you accept them in the site's consent banner. They are used to understand, in aggregate form, how the site is used (pages visited, generic purchase events) and to measure how well our campaigns work. Depending on what is configured at any given time, the tools this site may load are:

RECORD OF YOUR CHOICE
To be able to prove that your consent was free, prior and informed, we keep on our servers a record of every choice you make in the cookie notice (accepting, choosing necessary cookies only, changing your mind or withdrawing consent). Each record contains:
- the choice, the categories you authorised and the tools the notice was asking for at that moment;

- Payment gateway: payment is made through Aval Pay, the Grupo Aval gateway, in its own environment. That provider may set its own cookies or technologies within the payment flow, in accordance with its own policy. Your card details are captured by the gateway and this shop never stores them.

RETENTION
How long they last depends on the type of cookie, and is stated one by one in the list above:
