Fear has protected us, but it has also isolated us from everything we used to do or be. Still, this is the moment to reinvent ourselves, to move and to move forward together.
Today we face something that is not perceptible to human beings, and it can feel overwhelming for us: fearing something that is “tangible” but has a high fatality rate fills human beings with anguish.
At this moment in our history, we face something big and global:
collective fear, spread by the media, social networks and even our own families, a fear many of us can't handle and that has invaded our homes and our heads.
We're afraid to go out, to stop working, to lose our jobs, or to never get our lives back the way they were; understanding that this panic we feel is necessary, but not focusing on it, because otherwise we'll be sunk in an emotional state of paranoia that blocks us.
When we talk about fear, it's a necessary emotion we should use to face certain dangerous circumstances, whether to fight or to flee. It's hard to detect, but when we realize we're invaded by collective fear, we can work with it for our wellbeing.
We face two types of fear:
Fear at the physical level: It shows up as sweating, excessive nervousness, a faster pulse and a dry mouth, breathing that is much faster than normal, and nervous tics. On the other hand there is fear at the
psychological level, which limits us, keeps us from doing things and can even make us aggressive or withdrawn.
What happens in our brain
Many things come to mind, like too many thoughts, altering our state of anxiety and making us think: What should I do? Where should I go? Will we never be the same again? It's worth clarifying that fear turns into anxiety, one that doesn't kill us but does affect us.
When collective fear enters our being
Right now we feel weak, we feel our arms lose strength and we feel more tired than usual, but what's happening? This happens for one reason only: there is an
overload of anxiety supported by fear that is blocking our
nerve connections, which in turn send wrong responses to our muscles.
On the social side, we see reports every day of people who have died, doctors who are not immune, and friends and family who are speculators, filling our heads with toxic and harmful information, making us feel more afraid and with fewer solutions for a quick way out.
What can we do
“Let's turn off the screens”: Reducing the excessive use of screens, that is, phones, televisions, tablets or anything we consider a way for invasive information to come in, will let us clear out those catastrophic images and situations.
Face fear by taking care of your mental health
: we should face our greatest fear without avoiding it or simply doing nothing, and this is where we want to invite you to discover yourselves, to keep going, whether to help or to get creative.
Use flower essences: We know the feeling of fear is overwhelming, but we can help ourselves through flower essences. One flower essence that can help is the
rescue mix, which in those moments of extreme panic keeps us from freezing.
We can also use the Dog Rose flower essence, which helps with fear, anxiety and the fear of losing control when situations push us to the limit. It can be combined with other flower essences, but it depends on what we want to work on; that already depends on other factors.

Another key strategy for facing fear is doing activities that help us get out of the box
collective fear has put us in, whether exercising, reading, disconnecting, breathing or writing, because when we occupy our mind, that fear moves to the background and gives us more time to safely address the threat we have to face.
