Autoimmunity. You Hold It In, and the Body Expresses It.

Not everything that hurts is visible. Not everything we carry gets said. And often, what we don't express emotionally, the body ends up expressing.

We live in a world that normalizes stress, constant anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and daily pressure. We keep going, “functioning”, even when something inside isn't okay. But the body always listens, always registers and, sooner or later, responds.

    When emotions start becoming physical

At first, the signs may seem small or fleeting. Depression, for example, doesn't just feel like sadness. It often begins to show up as:

    • Sleep disturbances
    • Loss of appetite or overeating
    • Deep fatigue
    • Constant lack of motivation

Anxiety, for its part, doesn't stay only in the mind. It frequently shows up as:

    • Poor digestion
    • Gastritis
    • Insomnia from nighttime anxiety
    • A constant sense of alertness

Sustained stress creates ongoing tension in the body. Tight muscles, persistent aches, knots, and stiffness, as if the body could never fully relax.

When the body enters survival mode

The problem arises when these emotions aren't managed and become chronic. The sympathetic nervous system, responsible for keeping us on alert, stays activated for long periods, increasing inflammation and disrupting multiple processes in the body.

Various studies and integrative approaches have observed that this sustained emotional imbalance can be strongly linked to the development or onset of autoimmune diseases, such as:

    • Lupus: Strongly associated with chronic emotional stress and trauma.
    • Rheumatoid arthritis: Linked to emotional tension and suppressed anger.
    • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Frequently worsened by intense stress.
    • Multiple sclerosis: Stress and psychological trauma can increase vulnerability to this disease.
    • Psoriasis: Known to flare up during periods of stress, anxiety, or depression.
    • Crohn's disease: Intestinal inflammation linked to the impact of emotions on the immune system

This isn't about fear, or guilt, it's about awareness. Understanding that the body doesn't fail, it responds to what it's had to carry for a long time.

    Listening in time

Repressed emotions, grief left unprocessed, constant stress, or sustained anxiety don't disappear by ignoring them. They build up. And when they find no emotional outlet, they look for a physical one.

At Siu we know that the root of many physical ailments lies in the emotional world. The Fórmulas Siu are born from this deep understanding.

They are 16 formulas designed to support different emotional contexts, helping manage what we feel before it becomes something bigger, more complex, or harder to address.

They don't aim to replace medical care, but to offer support on the emotional side, helping the body recover its natural balance.

Staying a step ahead is also self-love

Listening to yourself, tending to your emotions, and mindfully supporting them is a deep way of caring for yourself.

Your body speaks. The question is: are you listening to it?

At Siu, we're here to walk that path with you.
