  1. We owe their creation to the British bacteriologist and pathologist Edwar Bach, who considered that physical problems and illnesses came mainly from emotional ailments that had not been addressed. Bach essences were the result of Dr. Bach deciding in 1930 that the human being should be seen as a whole.
  2. Bach studied how the morning sunlight passed through the dewdrops left on the flowers, transferring to those drops of water the ability of those plants to heal. He placed the flowers in a glass jar full of mineral spring water and left them in the sun for a few hours, so that the sun's rays would pass the energy of the flowers into the water.
  3. The Bach essences are considered today as the traditional floral essences and there are 38 essences to work with different emotional states of the human being. To this end, Dr. Bach separated them into 7 groups. The first focused on facing fears, the second on uncertainty, the third on lack of interest, the fourth on hypersensitivity and influence, the fifth on loneliness, the sixth on despair and the last on worry.
  4. Among the instructions for preparing the essences, Bach specifies that the flowers should be collected at dawn and left to rest in water for several hours.
  5. For Bach, the success of his essences lies in self-knowledge and in their capacity to enhance awareness and understanding of the root of the problem, addressing the cause first, the cause that sets off the emotional symptoms.
  6. The Bach essences were the inspiration for the creation of more essences that are also well known today, such as: Bush essences, California flower essences and Mediterranean essences, among many other systems.
  7. The countries around the world with a high production and trade of Bach essences are: Germany, England, Australia, also Spain, the United States, France, New Zealand, South Africa and Switzerland.
